All of what is exciting about Okinawa isn't found above land, but also under the vast sea that surrounds our tiny island chain. Although our SCUBA lessons are on hold until after Matt's cast comes off, we were able to get a taste for what we might see at the Churaumi Aquarium in the northern region of Motobu. The aquarium features one of the largest tanks in the world that holds several impressively large whale sharks and manta rays. It also has many smaller tanks full of fish and other creatures that inhabit the ocean near Okinawa, many of which are exclusive to this part of the world.
A commonplace book of thoughts and experiences in marriage, mommyhood, travel and life at our new home in Sicily. I feel blessed to be on this adventure and would like to share it with you.

Sooooo pretty! What happened to Matts foot? Or should I keep scrolling down the blog for part 2?
Oops! I forgot to add the update: he has a preexisting injury that was troubling him so they casted it to give his tendons a rest. The cast will be on for a month and then they will check to see how it's healing and proceed from there.
